seriously.  Companies flock to Delaware to take advantage of advanced and flexible corporate statutes and their legislature makes every effort to ensure that corporate statutes and other laws pertaining to doing business in Delaware are up-to-date and the most current in the nation.  Since the early 1900's Delaware has been "the place" to be incorporated in the nation and thy don't want to lose that status.  You can get a rather concise and informative booklet called "Why Corporations Choose Delaware".  concerning the reasons why corporations choose Delaware to incorporate.  Written by Lewis S. Black and is a very understandable and easily readable document.  Lewis Black is an attorney with vast experience in the area of Corporations Law in Delaware. 

Searching by Entity Name or File Number is easy to do.  The results are displayed in alphabetical order.  What you discover is the information that they provide will tell you of the existence of the entity it will not tell you if that entity is currently in good standing.  In any detailed information about the company you will need to order the documents from the State for a fee of between $10 and $20.   If you would like to order a copy of their annual report you would need to call them at
(302)739-3073.  Be aware that Certified Certificates of Status/Good Standing cannot be ordered online.
