Scott began his technology career with LexisNexis as a database operations analyst in content development. He then became a research specialist conducting in-depth research projects. With this knowledge and expertise, Scott worked for the next 15 years in the product development team, building, launching, and managing projects in the legal, financial, and business markets. His experience with financial research and product development allowed him to manage the large data mining projects that resulted in Company and Industry Dossier, as well as Company Analyzer and Content Gateways. His knowledge was also sought to manage content technology projects with partners such as Google, Yahoo, Thomson Reuters, Critical Mention, and Dun & Bradstreet.
Since leaving LexisNexis, Scott has been developing content and technology projects with a variety of clients. His knowledge of the business of information and database publishing have made him a successful online publishing consultant in a variety of areas. He has developed marketing projects with InfoDesk, supplied content and technology expertise to the Customers and Border Protection Agency, and conducted a broad business analysis for Summit Business Information. He continues to be involved in consultancy projects with LexisNexis concerning the development of algorithms measuring the quality that drives success.
Scott gained additional knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research by achieving a Masters in Business Administration focusing in Marketing Research. In order to understand markets and quantitative analysis in more depth, he chose to also acquire a Masters of Science in Applied Economics from Wright State University. He chose an econometric analysis of provincial political economics as the focus of his research. As a graduate of Wright State University, Scott also worked as an adjunct lecturer at Wright State focusing on delivering lectures on microeconomics to graduate students.
As a veteran of the United States Marine Corps he wants to make sure that veterans coming back from operations overseas get the help they they need when returning from combat operations. In order to help young transitioning service men and women, Scott is an active board member of Veterans 360, a non-profit veterans organization that engages young combat veterans with opportunities for education, employment, and healing.
